About Charlie

People ask me all the time why I do what I do. And the answer is that I love helping people discover how to have amazing sex and create happier, easier relationships.

Everything in your life affects your sexuality, and your sex life affects everything else about you. So it’s no surprise that everyone has questions about sex and sooner or later, everyone will come up against a brick wall. My job is to help you figure out what you want and how to make it happen. That’s a tall order. Understanding sex means looking at it through many different lenses and coming at it from many different angles. I’ve been intensively studying sexuality and relationships for a long time, and I can make it all much easier.

When you work with me, I’ll make it a lot simpler to figure things out. We’ll talk about your situation and how you got there, explore different directions you can go, and come up with a plan to get you from A to B. When you have questions, I’ll offer answers. I’ll give you tools for talking with your partner so you can create the kind of relationship that makes sex easy. And when you step out in new directions, I’ll be there to help you decide what works, what doesn’t, and what you want to do next. Whatever your sexual history and no matter what you want to explore, you can be sure to get the best information and support, without judgment or shame.

The Ultimate Guide to Prostate Pleasure, Charlie Glickman and Aislinn EmirzainFor over thirty years, I’ve been studying and learning about all kinds of sex. I’ve explored it through personal experience, academic study, professional trainings, and by talking and working with thousands of people from all walks of life. I’ve coached thousands of individuals and couples; taught hundreds of workshops; trained doctors, therapists, and clergy; spoken at conferences across North America; and trained hundreds of sex educators. There’s always something new to learn about sex, so I also attend trainings and classes in order to keep growing my skills.  Along the way, I got a PhD in sex education, joined the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, and wrote a book.

As part of my journey, I discovered how important it is to get out of our heads and connect to what’s happening in our bodies and our hearts. I became certified as a somatic sex educator because a thriving sex life happens when we experience embodied pleasure. Learning how to tune into your desire, boundaries, and pleasure works best when you can explore them in a safe, supportive container. And as a trained Somatica® practitioner, I’ve seen the powerful healing and growth that comes from being witnessed in your deep authenticity while also being supported in your growth and change. An amazing sex life isn’t something that you can get to by only engaging the brain. Your embodied emotions also have to be part of the journey, and I’m ready to go there with you.

It’s important to acknowledge that trauma, especially sexual trauma, is an unfortunately common experience that might be shaping or influencing how you feel about sexuality, pleasure, relationships, or yourself. While I am not a specialist in this realm, I am certified as a Trauma Release Exercises® provider. TRE® is a somatic practice that helps your body cultivate the innate recovery response that releases and unwinds stress, builds embodied resilience, and heals trauma. Whether TRE® is part of your path or not, our work together will honor your full history so we can find ways to create and celebrate your erotic self.

On the personal side, I’ve explored many different sexual communities and developed deep connections with people across the different continua of sexual orientation, gender, and sexual practices. I’ve learned from each of them and discovered how to apply their wisdom to my life and the lives of my clients. I’ve seen how valuable it can be to take the lessons from each community and look at how it applies to my experiences. And along the way, I’ve learned (and come up with) a lot of different ways to make sex hot and easy.

What does that mean for you? I know about many sexual practices, relationship models, and communities of erotic affiliation. Whether you have questions about sexual health, you want to explore some new fantasies, you’re looking to improve your relationship, or anything else, odds are that I can make that easier. And if you have a concern that’s outside my expertise, I know who to turn to in order to get the info you need. Nobody is born knowing anything about sex. But I can help you get over the learning curve a lot more easily.

Are you ready to have a great relationship and fantastic sex? Get in touch and we’ll set up a free Get Acquainted call. Let’s talk about what you’re looking for and how I can help you make it happen.

  • Charlie Glickman is skilled and personable. Whether working with me one-on-one or if I am one of many he is teaching in a group, I always understand what he’s communicating clearly and articulately, and have many ‘lightbulb moments’ of recognition and epiphany. His work is essential, clear, and precise.

  • I’m a total snob when it comes to teaching, facilitation, and good sex geekery: Charlie Glickman scores the hat-trick by being GREAT in all three!
